Ryan Douglass
Ryan Douglass is a scenic designer, director, and storyteller; with a background in music. He is currently an assistant professor of scenic design at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He has also worked as an adjunct or visiting professor in theatre and design at Purdue University, The Pennsylvania State University, University of Missouri Kansas City, and Binghamton University. He graduated with his MFA in Scenic Design from The Pennsylvania State University. He received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and Theatre from Florida State University. Previously, he was a high school theatre teacher at University High School in Orlando, FL, for seven years and a performer at Walt Disney World for eight years.
Ryan specializes in the 3D digital design process and ways to integrate the scene design profession into the modern tech landscape. He is passionate about new gadgets and themed entertainment. Ryan combines traditional scene design ideas with cutting-edge technology to modernize the design process and allow faster and more accurate design work.
